As you are probably all aware, Next Bike are a cycle Hiring / sharing company which has bases all over Cardiff. On behalf of Eastern BCU I have been working with the company to promote Healthy & Active Travel.

There are currently 52 planned locations around Cardiff and the company have agreed to offer us a 3 month Free subscription to gauge interest prior to a Corporate Membership being set up at a reduced rate.

There will shortly be docking stations located at Rumney and Cardiff Bay Police Stations to add to those already at Cardiff City Centre and Ely Police Stations.

The current offer is valid for 3 months and has no subscription charge. The deal entitles you to use a cycle free of charge for the first 30 minute of any journey. Journeys over 30 mins are then charged at 50 p per additional 30 min. or a £5 daily charge. The membership is valid in all UK Cities where Next Bike (or any of their partners) are based.

In essence all you do (having registered and downloaded App) is find a bike you want to hire; enter the bikes number on your app; the app provides you with a security number to unlock the bike; you enter that number into the bike and hey presto…………

We are trying to get as many people as possible to subscribe as this will get us better rates at a corporate level. Please ensure you use your ‘south-wales.pnn.police. uk’ email address as this is how the company identifies you as someone who qualifies for the free trial.

The trial is for 3 months and begins on Monday 8th October 2018. Happy cycling
