Federation Focus autumn edition out now

South Wales Police Federation’s autumn edition is out now and available for members to read online.

The latest issue highlights the delayed 2020 Police Bravery Awards ceremony in London which was attended by South Wales Police nominees PC Thomas Scourfield and Sergeant Geraint Jenkins who were honoured for their courageous attempts to rescue a man from a burning building.

Another pair of South Wales Police officers, PCs Brian Cooper and Ryan Morgan, have been nominated for the 2021 awards which take place in December and also feature in Federation Focus.

There is also coverage of the National Police Memorial Day Service at Lincoln Cathedral and updates on the police pay row and the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill which is going through Parliament.

Branch chair Steve Treharne reflects on the tough challenges policing has faced during recent months and repeats his calls for a truly independent process to resolve the remuneration issue.
