South Wales Police Federation chair Steve Treharne has remembered PC Gary Jones on the anniversary of his death.

Gary was 30 when he died in a road traffic accident on 28 June 1979 while on duty on his police motorcycle.

Steve said: “Police officers put themselves in harm’s way every day and all too often pay the ultimate price.

“Today we remember Gary, who died in the line of duty while serving our people and our communities. He will never be forgotten.

“The thoughts of South Wales Police Federation are with his family, friends and colleagues.”
