Remembering PC Andrew James

South Wales Police Federation has paid tribute to PC Andrew James who was killed in the line of duty on this day 20 years ago.

Andrew was hit by a car as he chased a burglar outside Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff on 2 August 2003. He later died in hospital at the age of 38.

Branch chair Steve Treharne said: “Andrew was committed to policing and was respected by all who knew him and worked with him.

“The thoughts of everyone at South Wales Police Federation are with Andrew’s family, friends and former colleagues.”
