A free new guide has been produced to support South Wales Police officers who are caring for a family member.

The online factsheet has been produced for Carers Week, which runs from 5 to 11 June.

Carers Week raises awareness of caring, highlights the challenges unpaid carers face and recognises the contribution they make to families and communities. This year’s theme is Recognising and supporting carers in the community.

New guide

The guide offers information on caring for elderly parents, caring for someone with dementia and caring for someone with a disability.

There’s advice for young carers, tips on financial assistance for carers, as well as links to further support and sources of information.

It’s been produced by Police Mutual, which offers financial services for serving or retired police officers, staff and their families.
